Review: Sensual Moments by Stephanie Miller

This book of short stories was not only HOT and sexy, it was also beautiful. I was mesmerized by Ms Miller’s writing. Her words flowed so naturally it was almost poetic. I would classify this as “classy” erotica if there is such a thing. The main character is smart and sensual and loves exploring. Although I enjoyed all five stories, my favorite was “Cedar”. The description of the forest makes the reader feel and see what Stephanie feels and sees. I could almost smell the exotic scents of the forest and feel the roots of the cedar tree beneath me as Stephanie pleasures herself. I certainly hope that Ms Miller will continue to write as I believe she has great talent.

Review: Broken Hart by Ella Fox

In Broken Hart, Sabrina Tyler is Dante Hart’s Executive Assistant. They quickly become bestfriends to the point where their families have Sunday dinners together.  Sabrina is extremely attracted to Dante, but doesn’t want to ruin their friendship or work relationship. 

This novel is written in the relatively new and popular sub-genre called Erotic Romance. Although there are lots and lots of hot, delicious, make-you-wet sex scenes, there is also a very romantic love story. Ella Fox did a fantastic job developing her characters to the point where you can feel an emotional attachment to them. Some scenes in this novel actually made me cry. It has been a very long time since a story was good enough to make me cry. That’s the sign of a good writer. 

There were a few typos and grammatical inconsistencies, but these are minor and easily overlooked as you get drawn into the story and its characters. The story is written through Sabrina’s point of view.  The first person POV written in the present tense is often very difficult to accomplish. Although there were some tense inconsistencies, Ella still managed to keep the story flowing. 

Broken Hart was Ella’s debut novel. The second novel in the series will be about Damien – Dante’s brother. If the first novel is any indication, I will also be staying up late at night reading Damien’s story. I can’t wait to read it. I think that Ella Fox will have a bright future as a writer. My rating: 4.5

Morning Communte Thoughts

Ok, so on my way to work this morning, I was doing the search-a-word puzzle in the local free paper as I do every morning. And for some reason, the words seemed a little out there. The first word that I found was “Scrotum” and the second was “Enema”. Now, are these words you want to see first thing in the morning?  You have to wonder what the person who comes up with these words was thinking. Or what kind of mood he/she was in. I’ve seen similar words in past. Words like: idiot, bastard, bimbo, penetration, and so on. It doesn’t bother me; I just find it a little strange that these would be found in the free paper. 

Then I thought… Wouldn’t it be fun to make up a search-a-word or crossword puzzle of naughty words? We could have words like: dick, cock, pussy, erotic, eat me, anal, BDSM, suck, lick, etc, etc, etc. Or perhaps a puzzle involving our favorite erotica novels and authors. Hhhmmmm…..something to think about. Any suggestions?

As for my reviews. I am trying to decide what to read next. It is either Broken Hart by Ella Fox or Power Play – Katie and the Dom by Selena Kitt. Unless someone would like to see something else reviewed on this blog. I’m open to suggestions.

Review: Under Mr. Nolan's Bed by Selena Kitt

WARNING – this review is intended for an ADULT audience. 

Well....Ummmmm. WOW! First of all let me say that all the reviews that mention that this is not for the faint of heart - BELIEVE THEM! Definitely a taboo book.

 That being said, I LOVED it! Last night I read until I couldn't see and had to put it down. I finished it this morning on the bus on my way to work. Reading such a hot book on the bus is not a great idea. It had me hot and wet and squirming in my seat. And I couldn't do anything about it! Ok, enough about me.

 This book is about Leah and Erica, two Catholic school girls (both 18) who have been friends all their lives. In the beginning, Leah is quite the innocent. Erica shows Leah the dirty magazines and films that are under her dad's bed. One thing leads to another and well...lots and lots of sex goes on. Leah falls for Erica's dad, Mr. Nolan, and they start a steamy affair. 

 ***SPOILER ALERT*** This book involves incest when Erica starts having sex with her father and all three really get it on. There is also a scene where Leah goes to confess her sins and the priest is masturbating in the confessional booth. The incest sex between father and daughter is pretty intense and described in terrific detail. But you know what people? This is FANTASY! It is not real. I see absolutely nothing wrong with an author pushing the envelope to the very edge. As long as it's well-written and between consenting adults. Don't most of us read erotica because what we read about would never happen to us in real life? 

Selena is such a talented writer. She truly has a gift. The characters were believable and lovable. I really hoped for a happy ending between Leah and Mr. Nolan. The pace was perfect. The sex scenes were detailed but with taste. They left you breathless with your heart racing and wet between your legs. The foreshadowing was well-crafted – both for the recreation of the movie scene and the history between Mr. Nolan and Leah’s mom. Although, the ending was a complete and utter shocker! I really didn’t expect it. When I realized why Patty was pleading with Rob, my jaw literally dropped. I’m still stunned. But it left me wanting more! 

Selena – I wish you would publish a sequel. You mentioned on goodreads that you had one, but that since Amazon banned the original version of Under Mr. Nolan’s Bed, you had to find time to work on it. I really hope that you do. I’m dying to find out what happens and how you’re going to make it work considering the ending of this book. 

My rating for this book is 4.5/5. It will become one of my classics and I will re-read it over and over again.

WARNING! Most of the books I read are in the erotica genre. Therefore, my reviews will reflect this and are intended for an adult audience.

Today, I will start reading Under Mr. Nolan's Bed by Selena Kitt. Thank you Selena for giving me a copy of your book. I am extremely excited about this book as I've heard good things about it. I am reading the risque, original version and not the cleaned-up, revised version. It has received a 4.5 rating on Goodreads.com, even if it is somewhat taboo, lots of people love it.

The book is about two Catholic school girls, Leah and Erica, who are experimenting sexually until Leah falls for Erica's dad, Mr. Nolan. Without spoiling it for anyone, let your imagination run wild and think of what happens between them...

So, I'll start the book today (and probably finish it as well!) and give you a full review on tomorrow's post.

If anyone has suggestions on books I should read and review, please feel free and drop me a line. I enjoy a good erotic story and I am not faint of heart. I can pretty much handle anything thrown my way except the usual no-nos: beastiality, children, torture, rape, etc.
